Narrative constructed within Inception and The Prestige
My A2 Media Studies course allowed me to choose an area of my choice to study for my coursework. As a film lover I chose to study the work of Christopher Nolan and my two favourite of his films, Inception and The Prestige. Throughout my course work I explored the way in which Christopher Nolan constructs his narrative to create a unique and exciting production that tricks the audience.
In my essay above I have explored not only the way Christopher Nolan’s narrative is constructed in both Inception and The Prestige, but also how narrative can be defined itself.
This film was made for one of the units in my AS ICT course. The purpose of the film is to show the benefits of living in The Information Age and what we can achieve with the technology around us.

wes anderson conventions
For my study on Wes Anderson one of the things that i did was make a DVD cover that showed some of the conventions that can be seen in his work. The DVD cover below is what i made, i was able to use Wes Anderson conventions to create the cover, title, actors used and the brief description of what the film is about and its story.

While volunteering in BBC Voices in Norwich i had the pleasure of taking part in a project displaying the artist Malca Schotten in her exhibit ‘I’m not dead yet’.
During this time I helped to interview a few of the people shown in the short film, set up the camera’s and microphones as well as editing some of the footage taken of them.
some of my time in the interviews can be seen in the URL below:

This production was made in response to my research into the genre of Thriller films. In this production i followed the conventional features of a thriller to create my story and fill it with suspense, the production was filmed in a team and the story and post production was developed myself.
Donnie Darko
My study of the opening sequence of Donnie Darko was focused on the use of mise-en-scene and cinematography to conform to the conventions of a thriller and how this was done. This study allowed me to look in depth at a thriller film and use my research to help create my own thriller film sequence.
